How does CMP work for Permanent Hair Reduction?
In a very short time (10 to 30 milliseconds) the light beam is in contact with the skin. The pigmentation of the shaved hair reacts with the light and is transformed into heat. The absorbed heat is transformed from the hair to the follicle. With a temperature of 70 to 72 degrees the follicle becomes desolated.
Once the follicle is completely destroyed it is no longer in a position to produce a hair.
The hair needs up to 14 days to leave the skin depending on the diameter of the hair channel.
During the breaks between treatments (4 to 12 weeks – depending on the area) sleeping follicles will be activated. Less hairs will grow and they will be thinner than the previous hairs.
With progressive treatments, the rebuilding of new hair will be reduced until the hair no longer grows back.
This process normally takes 4 to 7 treatments. This principle only works with pigmented hair and not with very light or grey hair.
NO PIGMENTATION - NO HAIR REMOVAL
Only active follicles can be destroyed by light. The follicle itself has no color and is not perceptible by IPL devices or lasers if no pigmented hair is connected.
What happens to the skin?
Reactions with the skin are very rare. Most of our clients have skin type 2 or 3. To work with more or less energy depends on the pigmentation of the skin.
Light skin = more energy
Dark skin = less energy
Are there any risks?
Dark tanned skin will absorb more energy, therefore the risk of burning is much higher compaired to the natural pre-tanned color of the skin. It is advisable to work with a lower energy setting or to reschedule the treatment to a later date, when the skin has returned to a more natural state.
